Reminders! FIREWORKS, Dogs & Cats, Yard Lights, etc..
Dear Northstar Neighbors,
A few reminders to help us have a great summer.
Fireworks =======
The Northstar Home Owners Association is asking for your cooperation in observing the neighborhood fireworks ban this 4th of July. Fireworks are prohibited in all areas of the neighborhood, including parks, common spaces, streets, driveways and private lots.
The covenants restrict all fireworks. If you’d like to celebrate the holiday with fireworks, please find another location to do so outside of the Northstar neighborhood.
The pets, babies, PTSD suffers, and others negatively affected by fireworks thank you ahead of time for your show of empathy and observance of the rules.
Dogs and Cats =======
Please keep your dogs properly restrained when enjoying our trails and common spaces. Be sure to use the regularly spaced clean-up stations to clean up any “business” that occurs (even if it is out in a field).
When at home, please keep your pets contained on your property either behind a fence, in a kennel, or indoors. There have been reports of dog and cats at large that are causing nuisances for neighbors. Reported problems have ranged from unwanted excrement, dead rodents, and allergy-related troubles.
Yard Lights ======
Please take a moment to check that your yard light is working. Individual yard lights are the only lighting source in the Subdivision. Well-lit neighborhoods are safe neighborhoods. Do your part in keeping the neighborhood safe and accessible.
SLOW DOWN ======
The combination of summer and COVID cancellations have made our streets a popular destination for kids and their bikes/scooters/etc. Please slow down when driving through neighborhood streets and observe the posted 15 MPH speed limit.
Campers, Boats, Trailers and Recreational Vehicles ======
Keep our streets safe this summer by storing campers, boats, trailers and RV’s off of the street. Limit street parking to reasonable load-in and load-out activities (48 hours or less if possible). Street-parked campers cannot be used for overnight guests; even temporarily. Expect active enforcement of this covenant-specified usage restriction.
No Dumping =====
Do not dump your grass clippings, dirt, rocks or other debris in our neighborhood common areas. Dumping such as this causes property damage, kills the native foliage, encourages weed growth and inhibits maintenance vehicles. We attempt to identify dumping and coordinate restoration as swiftly as possible to minimize negative impacts. If you see dumping, please report it to the HOA Manager, Amy, by emailing northstarhoa@hotmail.com.
Weed Mitigation =====
Noxious weed mitigation is the primary focus of this summer. We are embarking on a restoration effort on a couple of bad areas on the north-east end of the neighborhood. The cost of this is not insignificant. To prevent this from happening again, we will be conducting a series of broad weed sprayings across the fields, lawns, parks and trails in the neighborhood. Please watch Nextdoor, the HOA website and emails newsletter communications for details on when these activities will be occurring. The specific products have been chosen with care to minimize risk to residents, pets, wildlife and non-invasive species.
